Mourinho Rues Mikel Injury

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has rued
the knee injury that kept Super Eagles
midfielder, Mikel Obi out of last
Saturday’s 2-1 win against QPR in an
English Premier League game at
Stamford Bridge.
The 27 year old player whose six EPL
appearances this season for the Blues
has been as a substitute last played for
the league leaders in their 2-1 win over
Shrewsbury to secure a place in the
Capital One Cup quarter-finals.
“Mikel is in a difficult circumstances. He
gave everything in that game (vs
Shrewsbury) and he had a problem with
his knee.” Mourinho revealed.
‘Not having him (Mikel) is not good for
us, he is always an option, but the fact
we recovered Ramires is a compensation
for that loss, so the situation is a bit
better,’said Mourinho before Saturday’s
game.
The Nigerian is also doubtful for
tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League
game away at Maribor.
Mikel has however been listed by coach
Stephen Keshi in his 25 man squad for
the must-win 2015 Cup of Nations
qualifying matches against the Red
Devils of Congo and Bafana Bafana of
South Africa.
He has played 65 times for Nigeria and
has scored four goals.
